Read to Succeed Six Flags Free Tickets for Students

I have been mentioning some pretty great offers lately on tickets to Six Flags parks around the country. Those include my articles on the 2012 Season Pass Ticket Discounts and the now expired MyCokeRewards Wednesday deal for discounted point tickets. However, here is an excellent opportunity to not only encourage your children to learn and read, but then reward them with a fun day at a Six Flags Amusement Park.

The program is called Read to Succeed and is sponsored by Discovery Education. Starting this October, the program will begin for the 2011-12 school year, and is for K-6 grade students. Details of the program have yet to be released, but we can speculate some information based off last years details.

The program works that every student who reads for six (6) extra-curricular hours will receive a free ticket to a participating Six Flags park. The list of parks changes each year, so stay tuned for more information. The tickets look like they will be good for the entire 2012 season.

This is actually really smart marketing on behalf of Six Flags. Think about it. Give away a free child ticket, means the parents still need to come. Therefore, at least 1-2 additional adult tickets will get bought, not to mention any money spent in the park. It is a win-win for both the amusement park, as well as the parents.

I will be watching this offer as the details are released shortly. Stay tuned for more detailed information.

@Bernice: Thanks for reading and your interest in the program. The details for the 2011-12 program have not been released yet. Stay tuned for more information. Once the information has been released, you will need to enroll your school directly with the program, as I will be unable to do that for you.
