Here we are into the second half of summer, and the dreaded back to school year is fastly approaching. To help “celebrate,” Shop Discover is offering increased cashback bonus at select merchants to help you with your back to school shopping.
In order to take advantage of the additional cashback bonus earned from these vendors, you first need to be a Discover card holder. Then after signing into your online Discover account, go over to the Shop Discover tab, where you can then find the various vendors taking part in the promotion. The effective dates of the additional cashback bonus are July 14 til September 4, 2013.
Before making your purchase, always double check that Discover will earn you the most rewards by visiting sites like evrewards.com. While their system is not always the most up-to-date, it will give you a good baseline on who is currently paying the most for you to use their link.
I cross checked every single one of the vendors below against evrewards, and every single vendor has the highest payouts through Discover. In only a couple instances noted below were they paying the same as another portal. Your Ultimate Rewards or Membership Reward points are not going to earn you nearly as much as you will earn in cash when shopping at these vendors.
Also, Discover also lists under each vendor additional coupons and savings that can be used to get more money back into your pocket. I have grabbed a handful of them and listed them besides each vendor below.
