This weekend, Hershey released a very limited time offer to purchase combo tickets to their amusement park. From July 13-25, 2013, Hershey is offering a combo ticket for less than $50 (*All purchased tickets are subject to $0.85 amusement tax per day). The ticket will get you a one-time admission to Hershey Park during the summer season, and then a return visit to Hersheypark Christmas Candylane during late November/December, which is typically a separate ticketed event.
For this offer, one will receive the following:
- $49.95 – Adult (ages 9 – 54) Regular Summer/Christmas Candylane Admission Ticket
- $40.95 – Junior/Senior (ages 3-8 & 55-69) Summer/Christmas Candylane Admission Ticket
- $29.95 – Senior (ages 70+) Summer/Christmas Candylane Admission Ticket
Normal ticket prices for a single day ticket are $57.95 (adult); $36.95 (child/senior); or senior 70+ ($23.95). Prices for the 2013 Christmas Candylane have yet to be released; however, Hershey claims we will save $20 on the combo, meaning the holiday tickets cost roughly $12.
Is This Hershey Combo Ticket a Good Deal?
At first glance, I thought this combo ticket deal was an excellent deal. However, after comparing this offer to those listed on our official 2013 Hershey discount list, things began to get more fuzzy.
The best offer on daily tickets to Hershey are through Boy Scouts of America, where an adult ticket costs roughly $38 if purchased before the end of July. Add in the supposed $12 cost for the Christmas Candylane tickets, and you are paying the same price as the combo ticket package.
The combo offer is still an excellent deal; however, if you miss the July 25 deadline to purchase, you can still get the same separately ticketed events until the end of July by buying the Boy Scout offer and then Christmas Candylane tickets once available.
