Free Ritz Carlton, Renaissance, and Marriott Horseshoe Casino Cleveland Nights
Update 5/16/12: The offer is still live, just do not enter in JACKPOT as the promo code.
Update: The offer appears to have been possibly pulled as no dates are actually working even though they show as COMP.
When it comes to hotels, I would love to stay in high-end properties, but I just do not see the value. Considering how little time our family actually spends in a room, we really have very minimal requirements. While I typically stay away from the really cheap, non-chain properties, I do not mind staying in a lower tier Hilton or Priority Club property. So if there is a chance to stay in a Ritz Carlton, I guess I will sacrifice my meager ways and try it out.
The Cleveland Horseshoe Casino opened last night in the former Higbees Building. It marks the first time the State of Ohio has opened a legal casino, and I have to say I am excited that the State now has the opportunity to keep some of the gambling money within the boundaries. For years Ohio residents have been flocking to nearby States to gamble, losing the State of Ohio countless dollars.
For some reason, the Ritz Carlton, Renaissance Cleveland (Marriott), and Marriott at Key Center are all offering free nights on various nights throughout May, June, and occasionally into July. After logging into your Total Rewards account, proceeding to this Horseshoe Reservations page. At the very bottom enter in promotional code JACKPOT, and make sure you select the Horseshoe Cleveland and view the Rate Calendar.
Select dates will show as being comped.
We managed to score a Friday night stay for the Ritz Carlton and a Marriott Key Center.
Also note, we are not frequent casino attendees. On the contrary, our account has zero credits and I can not tell you the last time I stepped foot inside a casino. Well actually now that I think about it I guess we did last year on our trip to Cape Cod. The point though is that the rooms were not being comped just because I was a high roller, which I am not. The offer appears to be open to everyone with a Total Rewards account.
We will report back with detailed trip reports at hotels we might not have ever stayed at if not for free.

It doesn’t seem to work any longer. Even though comp dates show, it says Jackpot doesn’t work
