Discover Card $150 Bonus to End December 30, 2011

Yesterday I was notified that the current Discover® More Card – $150 Cashback Bonus with $1,000 in purchases in the first 90 Days for new applicants will officially expire on December 30, 2011. This promotion is the best I have ever seen when it comes to Discover Card. I have been a lifelong holder and daily user of both a Discover More and Discover Miles (back when you were allowed to have more than one card). I unfortunately did not get anything when opening my More card and only received something through my Miles card through a third party at the time. I love my Discover Cards not only because my parents have a long-time history of using them, which I inherited by opening my card years and years ago but also because of all the benefits we utilize.

While the sign-up bonus is not necessarily as stellar as a lot of the Chase and AMEX offers, I like my Discover Card most because of the rotating quarterly categories. For the first quarter of 2012, Discover Card has nicely increased the allowable spend ($1,500) to earn more of the 5% cashback in Gas Stations, Museums, and Movies. That is a nice easy $75 cashback, with everything about $1,500 in those categories calculating at 1% cashback.

In addition, Discover Card is testing out a new program, Money Messenger, allowing you to send your money to anyone for free via PayPal. Our current limit is $200 max per day/$500 max per month on each of our accounts. I can not guarantee that it will be available on your account, but if it is, it is a great benefit allowing you to earn some free cashback each month.

I love the Shop Discover network, which allows you to earn bonus cashback when shopping with their partners. Shop Discover is routinely one of the best cashback portal available for various merchants.

Discover is now partnered with Amazon allowing you to not only earn cashback by shopping through them, but also allowing you to use the cashback you earned to pay for items exclusively on Amazon. I am not a huge Amazong shopper, but having the flexibility is nice.

Lastly, I like having the ability to use my cashback on Discover partners allowing me to earn even more cashback. In other words, I can use my cashback in say a $20 increment to get a $30 gift card. One can easily rack up some pretty hefty returns using your cashback.

Since my Discover Cards are also our longest standing cards, we have no interest in not using them as they help maintain our high credit scores. As required, any links are affiliate links for which InACents.com may be compensated for use of the link. Thank you!
