Discover Card Cashback Now Redeemable at Amazon.com

This is excellent news for those who have a Discover Card, and are also big Amazon.com customers. Discover has announced that you can now directly redeem your cashback bonus at Amazon.com.

Here are a couple key things to note.

1) If you earn your Cashback bonus the smart way with 5% in the rotating categories throughout the year, this in essence means you are earning a 5% discount off of your Amazon.com purchases.

2) Discover Cashback Bonuses are typically redeemable in increments. So for example, statement credits and direct deposits are available in $50 increments. Partner gift cards are available in various denominations, typically as low as $20 increments. Discover gift cards are available in $20, $25, $50, $75, or $100. However, Amazon.com credits are now available for ANY denomination. So if you have $53 in cashback, you can use all or part of it towards your Amazon.com purchases.

3) Eligible Cards are limited to Discover More, Discover Open Road and Discover Motiva. Miles by Discover and Escape by Discover cardmembers can Pay with Miles.

  1. Richard says:

Pros: flexible, easy to redeem odd amounts

Cons: using discover cashback at 1:1 redemption levels is shortchanging yourself, usually by 20%. The best redemption values are by gift cards. $40 cashback for a $50 giftcard are common.
