During our honeymoon in 2008, my wife and I were fortunate to get a reservation at the Artist Point restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. It was one of those rare moments on the trip that we were dressed up for a fabulous meal.
Rather than make my lovely new bride ride a Disney Bus over to the Wilderness Lodge, I opted to pay a taxi to take us directly to the front door. Money well spent in the Florida heat, especially when we got dressed up for the evening.
The large mural in the main dining room is from Thomas Moran, and depicts the Green River area of Wyoming.
For our entrees, my lovely bride ordered the grilled beef tenderloin with chipeta potato truffle fries, sauteed wild mushrooms, and wild mushroom butter. My meal of choice was a grilled buffalo sirloin steak with sweet potato-hazelnut gratin and sweet onion jam.
The buffalo sirloin was as tender, if not more than my wife’s beef tenderloin. The great part about the entrees were the accompaniments were as delectable as the main dish.
If I remember right, it was one of those rare occasions when inside Disney World that my wife did not wear her bride mouse ears.
Fortunately, as became typical of every meal we ate at Walt Disney World during our honeymoon, the best part was always the dessert, and not only because we were given them for free. The magnificent array of flavors and artistry never failed to impress us.
The atmosphere and meal at Artist Point were romantic and beautiful, and a perfect evening for a honeymoon. Another one of those fine memories that will inspire us for a lifetime.

This looks amazing, and I’m sure it’s not only because I happen to be starving right at this moment. Your posting the entire menu isn’t helping either, as I’m now wondering where I can get some Seared Jumbo Day-Boat Scallops at 11:30 pm.
