Cleveland’s Own Fabulous Food Show Review

Starting today through Sunday, one of Cleveland hidden gems is going on at the IX Center adjacent to the airport, the Fabulous Food Show. Our family was invited out to experience the show, and we elected to have my in-laws go in our place. My father-in-laws writes about their camping and travel adventures for Why Did We Wait So Long, and always has an interesting perspective on things that I think our readers will enjoy.

Fabulous Food Show Review

Want to sample some great flavors to add to your favorite dish, or try some new food looking to break into the Cleveland market? Then the Fabulous Food Show is for you. With four cooking demonstration stages, a beer and wine tasting area, and over 150 vendors selling all kinds of interesting food products, there is something to suit everyone’s taste.

Where else can one sample the cuisine from one of 10 regional food trucks in the warmth of the IX center while Cleveland suffers through the first winter snow advisory of the season?

The highlights of sampling were Dads Favorite Cheese spreads from Kentucky, RJs Peppers in Oil From Youngstown, Miss Lillian’s Sauce from Maryland, and Chef Williams Concord Sloppy Joe Sauce. Considering they were a personal highlight, they were worthy of being brought home for further sampling.

It also felt good to sit with a Cleveland Legend, Mr. Michael Symon. Sitting in the audience of the food show’s main stage was probably the highlight of the event. With his local restaurants (Lola, Lolita, Bar Symon, and B Spot), his Iron Chef credentials, and being one of the hosts of ABC’s The Chew, Mr. Symon brought a hometown flavor to the Fabulous Food Show. Michael blended his humor along with the eggs he taught us to cook.

One of the things I truly appreciated about this show was that everything there related to cooking and food. Most other shows at the IX center include aisles of Gutter Guards and Sham Wows to wade through.

With hundreds of samples to try at the Fabulous Food Show, one should come hungry and not expect to leave with an empty stomach. The Fabulous Food Show is held November 14-16, 2014. Kids 12 and under are free, with ticket varying in price depending on what featured celebrity chefs you would like to see perform.
