FREE Admission March 20 to Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh

FREE ADMISSION CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF PITTSBURGH – The Children’s Museum on Pittsburgh is offering guests free admission on Thursday, March 20, in honor of Mister Rogers Birthday. This year, the iconic man who created the land of make believe would have been 86 years old.

Enjoy a visit from everyone’s favorite speedy delivery man, Mr. McFeely at 11:00 am. Don’t forget to explore classic Neighborhood pieces such as King Friday’s Castle and X the Owl’s Tree. See all the pieces and their locations here.

One adult must accompany every 5 children.

On a related note, I was surprised to learn that the Mr. Rogers Neighborhood trolley ride that we rode last year at Idlewild closed permanently and is being replaced by a new Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood attraction.

I was not ultimately impressed with the ride due to poor maintenance of the animatronics as well as not having much interest in the characters, even as a kid. However, nostalgic attractions ultimately strike a cord with many guests, and judging by the reactions on Idlewild’s Facebook page, those same guests were not to happy with the decision. The underlying complaint being how guests received no prior announcement of the attraction closure and chance to ride it for the final time.

The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is located at 10 Children’s Way, Allegheny Square, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
