When this card was originally offered a year ago, the sign-up bonus was 10,000-20,000 points, dependent on the card chosen (annual fee versus no annual fee). Currently, the signup bonus is double and has been updated accordingly below.

There are two versions of the Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard, as highlighted below.

Some additional benefits include the following:

– Both cards come with a 10% Carry-on-Miles Rebate. So if you redeem 20,000 miles for $200 in travel credit, you will receive 2,000 miles back.

– No cap on miles earned.

– No seat restrictions or blackout dates. You simply book any flight using your card and simply apply your earned miles towards the purchase.

– No foreign transaction fees, making it an excellent card to carry abroad.

The Barclaycard Arrival™ World MasterCard® is a nice alternative to the general point cards offered by Chase and AMEX, giving the flexibility to use points without restrictions and redeeming at a 2.2% value when accounting for the 10% rebate.

The only thing I do not like about working with Barclays is they determine your worthiness of the card based on credit criteria and income, yet do not specify what those criteria are to apply and get the card(s). If they deem you not appropriate for the Barclaycard Arrival™ World MasterCard®, they may give you the Platinum card which has fewer benefits. Personally, I wish they would just decline you for the offer, rather then say you did not meet an arbitrary unspecified requirement.

Still, I think the Barclaycard Arrival™ World MasterCard® – Earn 2x on All Purchases is a nice card to add to your wallet, assuring you an easy $400 in travel.
