News of the Wyndham Rewards big surprise promotion are now live on their website, and the hoop-de-doo was not worth the fan fare. I had predicted that Wyndham Rewards might just try and have another stellar earning bonanza on their hotel points like they did at this time last year. However, the reality is not so grand.

The Details

For guests staying at a Wyndham property between October 15, 2013 and January 31, 2014, you will receive a bonus 2014 points for your second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth stays. So in addition to the points earned per night, you have potential to earn over 10,000 points as part of this promotion.

Guests need to register for the promotion to participate.

In Conclusion

I am currently looking for a way to extend my expiration date on my Wyndham Rewards account. However, this promotion does not do much for me in terms of getting us to stay for the sake of earning discounted points (or miles) as I previously thought might happen.

There is a big group of people that really value the affordability of Wyndham properties, and this can be an excellent method for topping off an account for a reward. Wyndham Rewards tends to have a fairly generous redemption chart, at least compared to reward programs like Hilton. In addition, Wyndham Reward points can always be converted to airline miles at a rate of 2.5:1 with a minimum of 8,000 points.
