Just a couple of weeks ago I highlighted the Ohio College Advantage promotion where they were giving away a $50 bonus to those that fund an existing account with $3,000. The promotion was a hefty outlay of money, and was closed to those that already had an account open prior to March 1, 2012. As I predicted, a new promotion was right around the corner for new accounts.

The new College Advantage promotion is a $25 bonus for a $500 investment on new accounts. The new bonus is being offered on accounts opened between March 18, 2012 and June 1, 2012.

Overall, I think this promotion is pretty decent for a free return on your investment. I just received my $50 bonus for a $100 new account investment a couple days ago from back in October. The contribution minimum has been raising over the past couple of promotions, as well as how long until the promotion credits to the account. However, you can not overlook free money when it comes to future college costs.
