I am not completely sure whether I was targeted for this new offer from Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) or whether it is open to the public, but I thought I would pass it along just in case others may get something out of it. SPG has a new program called Bonus Beginnings, which I am assuming is for new members that have not completed a stay, but I can not say for sure. We created our SPG account last year to participate in the Audience Rewards program, but have yet to physically stay at a SPG property. This promotion is what I needed to now complete a stay.
The official promotion page is spgpromos.com/BonusBeginnings. The terms state registration must be complete by April 30, 2011, but I am going to go out on-a-limb here and assume since they just emailed me this offer, they meant 2012. The eligible stay nights stated a paid stay must be between March 5, 2012, through April 30, 2011, so again I am assuming it is meant for 2012.
After entering in your account number, I was given the option for 4,000 bonus Starpoints or a $50 SPG award certificate. I decided to opt for the 4,000 points since I may be able to redeem them for 2 nights at a category 1 hotel. At a minimum, I should be able to at least get 1 night free maybe for our Williamsburg trip planned for later in the year.
Let us know in the comments section if you were able to score a bonus offer from this promotion. I am assuming there may be different offerings based on whose account number is entered.

I had this offer too, but the dates was between May 2, 2012 – June 30, 2012.
My guess is the dates could be different for everyone. I redeemed the 4000 bonus points.
@Teck: I actually let this original offer expire, and then they sent me an even better offer for 5,000 points.
yes i received the choice of 3,000 points or a free night after a one night stay.i have until oct,312012 to complete the stay and the free night is valid until oct of2013.i had to register for the promotion.i hope i can do it as im going on vaca in nov and this would be a nice addition to the other hotels im staying at.if you have questions email me thanks.fyi this will be my second stay at a spg,first stay was in aug2012 though third party.
