Closing on New House and Becoming a Landlord

Well as of this week, we are officially new home owners in our dream “mansion.” It has been a long and arduous process of getting everything closed, lining up a renter for our previous house, and getting moved. However, there have been some lessons learned, which I will hopefully be sharing in some future posts.

We are still in the process of moving out of the old house, and finally emptying 3, yes 3, storage units. Hopefully in the process of acquiring more space, we can also start getting rid of more stuff. The worst thing we want to do is clutter up the new home, which can be tough when we finally have space to put all those wedding gifts we never opened, or need all the things you never think about needing in a new home (i.e. blinds, a lawn mower since the old one stayed with the rental, etc.).

Here is to learning new lessons and finally spending some of that hard earned money we have been saving all these years.
