Wyndham is offering 1,000 bonus points this summer for each stay until September 30, 2011. All stays must be reserved through the Wyndham promotion landing page by no later than September 5, 2011.
Here is one part of the terms I find quite interesting…
If a member does not elect to receive Wyndham Rewards points in their member profile, they will receive their regular airline miles or rail points for the qualified stays and 1,000 bonus Wyndham Rewards points in the promotion.
So for example, we do not collect Wyndham Rewards and instead collect airline miles. The reason I do not like the Wyndham program is my wife had an account with points in it. We booked a paying stay at the Howard Johnson Disneyland hotel last year. Weeks before we left, they shut down my wife’s account and we lost the points due to inactivity. I realize the inactivity clause was in the program rules, but even after calling and even explaining we were days away from a scheduled stay, they would not give us our points back. But back to the point…this promotion clause states you would receive the miles plus 1,000 Wyndham points. In other words, you will still receive the 1,000 bonus points, just in the form of Wyndham Rewards.
I am still trying to research for a future post how Wyndham’s credit card works if you are not set up to receive Wyndham Rewards.
This is my e-mail address for my 1000 rewards points.
