Gilroy Gardens, located in Gilroy, California, is one of the newer family theme parks, opening to the public first in 2001. Once privately owned, today the park is owned by the City of Gilroy, but under operation by Cedar Fair, the parent company to Cedar Point, Knott’s Berry Farm, and many other parks across the United States and Canada.

The park prides itself on being a non-profit park, since it is publicly owned, and “whose mission is to educate and inspire families, especially children, to appreciate horticulture and the importance of trees in our lives by providing fun and memories in a beautiful garden setting.”

Gilroy Gardens features over 40 family friendly rides, gardens, and exhibits on 536 acres.
