Cedar Point opens their gates for the 2015 season on May 9, 2015. With the new season comes the newly transformed Rougarou roller coaster, allowing guests to try a floorless design while flying 60 MPH through the swamplike environment.
Also new for 2015 will be the renovation of historic Hotel Breakers along the shores of Lake Erie. The hotel was completely gutted to the studs and rebuilt from the ground up, highlighting all new rooms in the shadows of the Cedar Point attractions.
With the opening of the park still months away, guests looking to getaway and feel some warmth need look no further than Cedar Point.
Located on the mainland before heading over the causeway to the Cedar Point peninsula is their indoor waterpark, Castaway Bay! Castaway Bay offers a variety of water attractions to suit families of all ages and sizes. Included in your daily ticket is everything from the traditional wave pool, tipping bucket play area, kid pools, water slides, and even a water coaster. Plus for those not necessarily looking to get wet, there is a great arcade, shops, and dining locations at Castaway Bay.
Our family recently spent the night at Castaway Bay, and had a great time! The park was ideal for our kids, who are still younger, who enjoyed the wave pool, kid areas, and smaller waterslides. Our oldest was also tall enough to get to try out the water coaster, and really loved it!

We did not spend much time in the room, but they are great and overlook the lake and surrounding area. Our room was modern and had two beds, a small fridge, flat screen television, and plenty of storage for our belongings.

We have stayed at Castaway Bay a few times. We ate at Mango Mikes and at the time we also ate at TGI Fridays which is no longer there. The waterpark was great. It is a good place to take your family anytime during the year.
