I am rather excited to have a new player in the downtown Disney area hotels, as we helped announce back in November that the former Royal Plaza Hotel is being transformed into the newest B Resort. My wife and I stayed at the Royal Plaza, and in the Presidential Suite, back for our honeymoon in 2008, so the property always has a special place in our hearts. That is why I am excited to help announce the B Resort $1 Birthday Sale.

In anticipation of the grand opening early this year, B Resort is offering a special rate for those celebrating a birthday in the area. Simply book a room for a minimum of 2-nights over your birthday, and the second night is only $1.

Note, the $1 rate is only for the “Chic” rooms, and if you want to upgrade, there is simply a $29 upgrade fee per night.

I elected to spot check rates for our trip this summer, and found rooms at $170/night, making two nights over a birthday at only $85.50 per night.

Quite an interesting promotion for those that can actually take advantage of the terms. Our family recently changed our reservation from the downtown Disney Holiday Inn to the Disney Caribbean Beach Resort after their latest sale priced out the rooms at the same price as the former. Even though we will be staying in the area a couple of additional nights beyond what we will at Disney, we will not be able to take advantage of the B Resort birthday offer, so will probably pass this trip.
