One of my favorite gems while on the Big Island of Hawaii was absolutely Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park, located on the western side of the island. The park wonderfully recreates various aspects of the traditional Hawaiian features.
The grounds of the complex are located adjacent to the owner, and make for a terrific backdrop for a relaxing visit.
Clearly, words elude me to describe the surroundings and details of the historic site, and I am better left to let you explore the area through pictures.
