This is my final post where I discuss the financial impact of our trip to the Finger Lakes in New York. In my previous posts I talked about our stay at the Staybridge Suites (Part 1), what we did while in Corning (Part 2), our time spent in the Seneca Lake wine region (Part 3), and finally our final day in the Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake areas (Part 4).
The following is a summary of our expenses while in the Finger Lakes region.
$313.77 – 3 Nights at the Staybridge Suites (Corning, NY)
$208.15 – Gas x3 (includes estimate of partial tank that we had when leaving the house)
$15.00 – Wine Tasting Fees (several were covered by purchasing bottles of wine)
$23.80 – Admission for 2 Adults to Corning Glass Museum (with AAA discount)
$8.55 – Glassware from Corning Glass Museum
$194.35 – Food at Restaurants
$52.08 – Food to bring home (Hot Dogs, Cheese, etc.)
$192.83 – Wine to bring home
——————————
$1,008.53 or $252.13/day
Yes there were probably some things we could have cut out, and maybe we did not need to bring as much food or wine home, but what fun would traveling be without some edible items to bring home. Of course the majority of this trip was placed on our Discover Miles cards, so we look to gain at least double miles for our hotel costs, as well a single mile for all other purchases. In addition, I am still waiting to see how many points I will receive from all my bonus opportunities with Priority Club.
