Aug 2014 Kings Dominion One-Day Sale

Kings Dominion One-Day Sale (August 2014)

For today only, Kings Dominion amusement park, sister park to Cedar Point and Knott’s Berry Farm, is offering a discounted admission ticket for only $29.99, a savings of $34 off the gate price. For those of you with late summer vacations planned to Virginia, this is an excellent deal!

Tickets are valid August 9 – August 24, 2014 for anyone ages 3 and up.

This year marks the 40th anniversary for the park, and Kings Dominion has worked hard to restore some of the iconic figures from the parks past, including a return of the classic singing mushrooms.

This sale represents a better offer than was listed just two weeks ago for the Christmas in July sale.

Do note that all online orders incur a $4.99 processing fee for up to two tickets, $6.99 for 3-4 tickets, and $9.99 for 5 or more tickets. Limit 10 tickets per order.

Buy A Busch Gardens Fun Card, Get Water Country USA Free

BUSCH GARDENS WILLIAMSBURG 2-PARK FUN CARD – To usher in the start of the 2014 season, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is offering the deal of the season. For a limited time, guests who purchase a Busch Gardens Fun Card will get unlimited visits to Busch Gardens, plus unlimited visits to Water Country USA for free.

Available for purchase February 1 through March 31, 2014, this limited-time offer grants unlimited admission to Busch Gardens starting March 16 and to Water Country USA starting May 17 through September 1, 2014. This offer is only available online at the link provided above.

The Busch Gardens + Water Country USA 2-Park Fun Card is $72 per person ages 3 and up. This is the same price as a single day admission to Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Fun Cards are basically the same as a season pass, as they are valid all year long. However, there are some notable differences between a Fun Card and a Season Pass.

Only the 2 Park Season Pass ($168 per person ages 3 and up) comes with free parking, discounts on merchandise, food, and tickets for your friends and to visit other parks. What I do not like about the wording of the Season Pass deal is they state it is valid for 12 months from the time of purchase. However, one needs to be aware that the parks are not open all year (Busch Garden opens March-September; Water Country USA May-September).

I think the Fun Card option provides a fantastic deal to families within the area, in addition to those that may visit the parks on multiple days.

Note, the Fun Card and Season Pass do not include admission to Christmas Town.
