2013 BOGO Ski Free Lift Tickets via Shell Gas Stations

Ski Free Logo

Cold, snow, and frost may not get most people too excited. Heck, I am not even that big of fan of living in the Cleveland tundra. However, the one aspect of winter that does excite me is skiing, especially after last seasons mild winter. What excites me even more is that Bug (3) is finally of the age where I can teach him, and hopefully he enjoys, skiing.

I have hopes of getting to take Bug to some of the local bunny hills and having some of the professionals teach him a thing or two before he heads out onto the trails with me. I know there will be some apprehension to get over, but hopefully he can conquer that fear and learn the fun of hightailing it down a hill.

For those in areas with actual snow mountains, scoring a deal on free or cheap tickets may be more difficult. For the past several years (here is the 2012 Ski Free offer for reference), there has been an offer through Shell Gas Stations of buy one, get one lift tickets with the purchase of 10 gallons of gasoline. The promotion starts January 2, 2013.

Please find below the list of 2013 participating properties of the Ski Free offer.

Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean 30th Anniversary Plaque and Ride Video

Originally designed as a walk-through experience, the original Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland opened March 18, 1967. In 1997, the 30th Anniversary plaque and fountain were installed in the queue.

The plaque reads:

30th Anniversary

Honoring Walt Disney’s Buccaneer Crew
X Arencio – Buddy Baker – Rodger Broggie –

Bill Justice – Bill Martin – Mathel Rodgers –
Herbert Ryman – Lee Tombs
“Yo ho yo ho a Pirates Life for Me

Disneyland

I did not have too high of hopes for capturing the Pirates of the Caribbean on video, but for a dark ride, one can get the general idea of the layout of the Disneyland version.

Celebrate Kids Free Attractions in San Diego During October

The month of October marks an important time if you live in the San Diego area. For the entire month, various attractions have proclaimed they will be kid free zones, meaning hire a babysitter or leave the kids at home because mom and dad are going to have some alone time.

San Diego Kids Free

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of raising kids, doing laundry, and walking the dog, this is the perfect opportunity to just forget about it all. That is right parents, this is all about you and what you deserve. The list of 100+ attractions will be free of diaper changes, crying toddlers, and smashed juice boxes for this one special month.

You can relax and take a stroll through various museums including California Surf Museum, Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation, or the Museum of Making Music, among others.

Or what about a kid free trip to the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park?

Regardless of what is your pleasure, the San Diego area has plenty of Kids Free activities available during the month of October. So crack open some champagne, get your pedicures, and have a smashing good time.
