Today marks the 30th Anniversary of the opening of Epcot at Walt Disney World. So in honor of the anniversary, lets take a quick look back right before the opening.
Visiting Walt Disney World in 1982 was quite the different experience than it is today. For starters, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom were yet to exist. Actually Epcot was under construction at the time, and guests could visit the EPCOT Center Preview on Main Street U.S.A. In addition, the price of a 1-Day Passport pass only cost $13.25 per adult ($11.19 + $0.56 tax + $1.50 Transportation Charge).
These ticket stubs were another treasure discovered in my grandparents travel documents. As you can tell from the ticket stub, this was also during the Tencennial celebration of the Magic Kingdom. This was also at a time when Disney transitioned from the ticketing system for each ride to a one-price-fits-all model.
