Back in May we helped announce that Discover card was offering a 2% cashback bonus on purchases made in the Caribbean through the end of June 2013. Well here it is getting chillier in the United States, and would not all of us rather be spending some time Down in the Islands!

Discover is again offering card users the chance to earn 2% cashback on up to $500 in purchases from October 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013.

You must call Discover to 1) register for the promotion, and 2) to notify them of your status out of the country so they do not flag your account for potential fraud.

The Discover card offers no foreign transaction fees, making its use overseas an excellent card to carry, provided it is accepted everywhere.

This promotional reward is in addition to any other Cashback Bonus you earn during this period and is based on your current tier level, up to a full 3% on each purchase. This promotional reward is also in addition to purchases made in the quarterly 5% Cashback Bonus program if you are signed up for the quarterly program.
