50% off Aquarium of the Pacific Afternoon Admission Tickets

GoldStar, a supplier of discounted tickets to various events around the country, is currently offering discounted afternoon admission tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific located in Long Beach, California.

Regular price afternoon tickets go for $14.95 – $28.95; however, GoldStar is able to offer them for $7.00 (Child) – $14.00 (Adult).

Vouchers are good for one admission to the Aquarium through December 31, 2014.

The unfortunate part is that GoldStar is not like a Groupon type site, where what you see is what you get. GoldStar charges a service fee of $4.50 for an adult ticket and $3.25 for a child ticket (regardless of the number of tickets sold). So the more tickets you buy, the more effective at knocking down the cost of the service fee per ticket.

The Aquarium of the Pacific is open 9:00am to 6:00pm every day of the year, except for Christmas Day and during the Grand Prix of Long Beach (April 11, 12, and 13, 2014). This voucher may only be used for a visit between 3:00pm and 6:00pm.

April 2014 Cleveland Foundation Free Zoo Day

Free Cleveland Zoo Admission Day

FREE CLEVELAND ZOO ADMISSION DAY – The Cleveland Foundation is set out to do great things for the city and residents in 2014. Our family took advantage of their February event, offering free admission to the Great Lakes Science Center (and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum).

The April event has been announced, offering guests a free day at the Cleveland MetroParks Zoo on Saturday, April 26. This event marks the first time in 20 years that the zoo has offered free admission on a weekend day to all guests. In addition to zoo admission, guests will also be able to enjoy access to the normally separately ticketed RainForest building.

A large number of Greater Clevelanders have taken advantage of the foundation’s previous “Cleveland Foundation Day” gifts to the community. Cleveland Foundation Day on the Greater Cleveland RTA on Jan. 16 led to a 25% increase overall on RTA buses and trains. Cleveland Foundation Weekend on NorthCoastHarbor on Feb. 22 and 23 brought a record 16,450 visitors to Great LakesScienceCenter and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum’s 8,000 visitors was a 500-percent increase over a typical Sunday. Last month’s Cleveland Foundation Day at Cleveland International Film Festival drew the biggest Monday audience in the Festival’s 37-year history with nearly 8,000 attendees.

Our family has been members of the Cleveland MetroParks Zoo for years, so we will not be attending this event. After experiencing massive crowds during our visit to the free day at the Great Lakes Science Center (GLSC), I am not sure what to propose to minimize crowds.

We showed up to the GLSC event at least a half hour prior to the doors opening, and were in a line several hundred people long. The record breaking crowds made enjoyment at the event difficult. So I can not even logically say arrive early, as it did no good on the GLSC day. It may even be better to arrive later in the day to minimize crowds.

The good thing the Cleveland Zoo has going for it is the acres and acres of size, and therefore the crowds will be more spread out.

Will you be taking advantage of the Free Cleveland Zoo Admission Day?
