Free Delta Skymiles via Audience Reward Trivia

This week I discovered some simple Broadway show trivia questions via Audience Rewards and US Airways. It appears the questions might get updated weekly monthly, allowing everyone to earn 10-12 miles per week.

I tried searching other airlines to see if the same partnership existed, and did not find anything; however, in the thread over on MilePoint, it appears Delta Airlines is also offering trivia questions to earn up to 10 free Skymiles. The Points Play questions are located on the Delta Audience Rewards page.

This weeks questions and answers are as follows:

– Which of the following shows did Julie Taymor NOT direct on Broadway? Spring Awakening

– True or False? The song “It’s My Party” is NOT featured in Baby It’s You. False

– How many songs are in the show of Naked Boys Singing? 16

– Which legendary stage veteran was in the original company of The Normal Heart? Joel Grey

– True or False? There is NOT any piece in Wicked that has a similar start to Over the Rainbow? False

US Airways Audience Rewards Broadway Trivia Update

Yesterday I had wrote about the US Airways Broadway trivia where you can earn miles for answering some simple questions. Well it seems that possibly the questions change each week month, which would be a great way to continue earning miles.

Again, go to the US Airways Audience Rewards page to get to Points Play.
The questions, and answers, I had today are:

– For The Lion King, which of the following jobs did Julie Taymor NOT have for the show? Choreographer
– True or False? How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is based on a book of the same name. True
– What regional theatre originally produced Baby It’s You? Pasadena Playhouse
– Which of the following actors has NOT played the role of Ned Weeks in The Normal Heart? Al Pacino
– True or False? Stephen Schwartz purposely made notes in Wicked to sound like the first 7 notes of the song “Over the Rainbow” as a tribute to Harold Arlen. True
– The writer of Born Yesterday also directed what musical on Broadway? Funny Girl

Now go and earn those free miles.

US Airways Dividend Miles for Broadway Shows

I was recently searching for new opportunities to stock my US Airways Dividend Miles accounts, and came across a promotion offered by Audience Rewards. How the program works is for all tickets to participating Broadway shows purchased through their website, they will give you Dividend Miles.

It looks like the only current cities participating in this program are:
– Charlotte, NC
– Durham, NC
– Los Angeles, CA
– New York, NY
– San Diego, CA
– San Jose, CA

However, it looks like this could be a nice way to pad your accounts if you plan on going to see the shows anyway. Audience Rewards also has a special pre-sale section for tickets, with bonus miles up to 1,800 miles per ticket.

I ran a quick test for a Chicago matinee showing on a Thursday to qualify for the 1,800 miles per ticket bonus miles. The total cost for the cheapest ticket ran $79.25 ($69 + $7.50 service charge + $2.75 handling charge). Therefore, the 1,800 miles works out to just over $0.04/mile; nothing to get worked over, but if you are planning on going anyways, it is nice to know you have some mile earning opportunities as well.

Bonus: There is also a little trivia contest to earn a free 12 Dividend miles. Go to the Points Play US Airways page, and answer the respective questions to earn your free miles. The questions and answers are:
– How many men are in the cast of Naked Boys Singing? 8
– True or False? Rain – the Beatles Experience was originally set to be a limited engagement on Broadway. True
– Which of the following film actors did NOT star in the movie version of Mamma Mia? Anne Hathaway
– During its original Broadway run, Rent played what theatre? Nederlander Theatre
– True or False? St Luke’s Theatre is in the basement of a church. True
– Voca People plays at what Off Broadway theatre? Westside Theatre
