The Best Barclaycard Arrival World Mastercard Offers

Back in February I started looking at the Barclaycard Arrival World Mastercard. Among the benefits are earning 2 miles per dollar spent; redeeming miles with a 10% discount; and a complimentary subscription to TripIt® Pro mobile travel organizer with the $89 annual fee version; one year subscription with the no annual fee option.

Ever since I was able to open my second US Airways Dividend Miles card, I have gotten the fever of churning the same card over again. Barclays happens to be the most generous with allowing guests to earn a bonus over again, which in my opinion is ultimately the most promising aspect, so long as you use the card and let Barclay get a little skin in the game.

So I have been spending some time perusing the forums, reading other blogs, and even doing my own link manipulation over the past couple weeks to try and see if there are any better offers out there than the standard 20,000 miles/no annual fee or 40,000 mile/$89 annual fee offers. Fortunately, our affiliate channel placed one of the better offers into our system this week. The following is what we have been able to discover.

40,000 bonus miles after $3,000 in purchases within ninety (90) days (affiliate link); $89 annual fee waived the first year.

20,000 bonus miles after $1,000 in purchases within ninety (90) days (affiliate link); no annual fee.

What I find most interesting is that if you look at the Terms and Conditions of the 20,000 mile/no annual fee card, it links to the same terms as the 40,000 mile/$89 annual fee card. I am wondering if you take screenshots if you can convince Barclays that the terms stated you would get 40,000 miles, which they clearly do.

Note: Some of the above offers are affiliates links, and are noted accordingly. If you elect to use our offers, thank you.

Comparing the Current US Airways Premier World MasterCard® Offers [EXPIRED]

US Airways Preferred MasterCard

Update 2/19/13: Both offers below have since been expired.

Update: Our friend, Mommy Points, via View From the Wing, alerted us this morning that the Chairman’s link below has apparently been modified, requiring an employee number now. While there are reports of people getting approved leaving this field blank, it is up to you whether ethically you feel the desire to use the Chairman’s application. It is kind of sad US Airways decided to modify their Chairman’s offer, despite being live and active for such a long period of time.

This week our affiliate manager notified us that the current US Airways Premier World MasterCard® bonus had been increased to 50,000 miles (previously 40,000 miles, which was really only 30,000 miles after first use + 10,000 miles for a balance transfer).

Last month I wrote about how I applied for the US Airways Premier World MasterCard® back in May 2012, prior to our trip to Hawaii. To date I have earned mountains of miles using this card, but I also put all of our expenses on the card each month.

The best offer for the card has been the Chairman’s Preferred Members link, which offers 40,000 miles after first use, and additional 10,000 miles each year upon account renewal, and the first year annual fee ($89) waived, as well as other numerous benefits.

Our current affiliate offer for the US Airways Premier World MasterCard® (I am providing the link so you can compare the offers) now grants the same 40,000 mile bonus after first use. However, the major difference from the Chairman’s offer above is that no where does the terms mention the additional 10,000 bonus miles each year upon account renewal. In addition, the annual fee is not waived the first year.

So in reality, I had hopes of being able to reemphasize my post from last month that now we could offer the best offer available, backed by our own personal experience using the card. However, in reality, I do not recommend using our affiliate link as I think the Chairman’s link is a better offer, saving you the annual fee for the first year, as well as earning an additional 10,000 miles each year.

I carry and use the Barclay’s US Airways Premier World MasterCard® as I believe it will offer some great benefits to our family when it comes time to redeem for travel. My favorite aspect is getting to spend 5,000 less miles for an award ticket. We have already earned enough miles to get my wife and I back to Hawaii. Now we just need to plan to earn enough to get our boys there with us in the future. We can easily do so by opening the same card for my wife, as well as opening various other cards that can then transfer miles into US Airways. To see some more details on the benefits of the US Airways card, see my previous Barclay’s US Airways Premier World MasterCard post.

Churn in the New Year with the Community Based Barclay’s Ring Card

A stark reality of the credit card world is lots of people carry a balance, and thus pay interest to the issuers. As a result, lots of readers are in search for better options to keep their overall costs down. The Barclaycard® Ring MasterCard® hopes to step in and be the answer for those interested in paying down their bills and hopefully eliminating carrying a balance in the future.

To start off with, the Ring card comes with zero balance transfer fees and no annual fee. Then, Barclays is committed to providing a low interest rate on the card, currently 8%.

The best part of the card though comes in the form of the money that the Ring community brings in and how it is redistributed. A portion of the profits are returned to the customer, where you then have the option of keep your share or donate the money to charity.

I rather like the open book concept, where “each month you will see how the collective Barclaycard Ring community is performing, how [they] make money, [their] expenses and what portion of the estimated profits can be shared through the Giveback™ program.”

Overall, I think this is a really interesting product for those carrying balances, since your involvement in the program can help keep you focused on getting rid of those balances and even having enough left over to make a difference to a charity.

We are an affiliate of the Barclay’s Ring card, which does provide us with a commission, but all opinions expressed are those of InACents. If you appreciate our service and use our links, thank you!
