Today Wyndham Rewards launches a Big Surprise promotion, according to their Facebook page last week, and from what I have seen, there have not been any leaks for what it may be. However, I have a prediction that I am guessing may be fairly correct.

Last year at the same time, Wyndham ran a promotion where guests could earn 16,000 Wyndham Rewards points for up to 3 nights. The downside was the promotion was targeted and only valid at select properties.

The reason the Wyndham promotion was so popular last year was that while Wyndham Rewards can be used for hotel stays, they also convert rather nicely to other reward programs. Wyndham Rewards points transfer at 2.5 to 1 airline mile (minimum of 8000 Wyndham points to transfer). This makes staying at a Wyndham property a rather lucrative method for earning airline miles at a significant discount.

So while this post is highly speculative, Wyndham Rewards tends to be making quite a to-do about it. So lets all hope the big announcement will be open to many and be worth our investment into interaction with the brand.
