American Airlines has teamed up with DIRECTV to offer 10,000 AAdvantage Miles with new 2-year term contracts. Sign up here. It is not a bad reward if you are in the market for a new satellite service contract. Offer expires May 31, 2011.

Promotional Terms and Conditions
Offer ends 5/31/11. Offers are based on approved credit. Credit card required (except in MA & PA). New customers only. 2-year agreement required. Hardware and programming available separately. I decided to poke around other airlines to see what they were offering for new satellite service contracts, and here is what I found.

– Continental Airlines will award 5,000 miles for a new contract with Dish Network via OnePass Wireles. Link
– US Airways 5,000 mile bonus with new Dish Network Contract. Link

American Airlines Fortune Cookie Promotion (LAX)(Free Miles)

In honor of American Airlines new service out of LAX, they have a promotional page set up with a fortune cookies challenge. After you go to the promotion page, you will click “Don’t Have a Code?” under the Promotion Code box, then enter in a security code and an email address.

If you are an instant winner, you will then be prompted to enter in your AAdvantage number.

Let me first say this promotion can take a lot of effort. The reason being is that in my instance, it took me lots of fake email addresses several times all day today. There has been discussion about which promotion codes work and which do not. In my case, random generating the code never worked. I finally used 0A58C, and still after around 100 tries this afternoon managed to score 500, 200, 200, and 1,000 points for all our accounts. Our big winner was the newest member to the frequent flyer community, our newborn. Pretty good for only being six weeks old!

If you do not win on the first try with a valid email address, you will need to start making them up. I just used various variations of my email addresses, most of them being fake. Another thing I learned today is that if you have a gmail account, you can move around the periods anywhere in the email address and it will still work. Good to know for instances like this, although I ran out of options this morning very quickly after trying it probably 50 times.
