Wow, do I love traveling with my family! We just came back from a SPECTACULAR weekend in Cincinnati, and on the entire drive back all I could think about was how great of a bonding experience the whole weekend trip was for our boys. See, for our family we do not need to go to some high end place, in some fancy resort, eating silver platter meals. We had a short haul weekend packed full of things to do that were mostly family friendly. We will get more into that over the next week or so.

Offroad bicycle racing on the lower Appalachian Trail
There is a cranberry bog right next to a Bass Pro Shops in the town next to ours (Foxboro, MA) which has a great 1/2 mile loop that goes through the trees. It’s a great place to bring kids to let them run around no matter what the weather is like. The bog and the trail is beautiful and then you can go inside to Bass Pro Shops and get a snack when you are done. Perfect way to kill an hour or so with the kiddos.
We have two events every year to raise money. Families are invited downtown with children’s activities and food!!

Our county is known it’s hiking and birding trails (Flagler County), which I take my kids on often. But I am also not that far away from the Jacksonville and Central Florida zoos (an annual pass helps).
The American Royals Barbeque…thousands of grills competing for the best BBQ is a Kansas City Tradition.
That’s easy! Come to Washington, D.C. and visit a few museums that are free everyday: Air & Space (a must), Natural History Museum (Hope Diamond gallery for the Mrs. Inacents, dinosaurs for the boys :-), etc.
A great place by me in St. Paul, MN is Ft. Snelling. Its a chance to see how soldiers and Native Americans interacted and to live in the past with all the neat stuff that is available to see and touch.
In Sacramento, a zoo is a great place for a friendly family activity. Thanks.
you can watch a bald eagle catch a fish every day in from my kitchen window.
Grand Canyon, what more can I say! =) Lodgings up there have gotten significantly better.

A visit to the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, ON; Loads of hands-on activities, demonstrations, and an OMNIMAX theatre for movies.

I live in Brooklyn, NY next to Prospect Park. On Saturdays, many families get on their bikes and bike around the park, ending up at the Farmer’s Market at Grand Army Plaza. After refueling at one of our local farmstands, we head up to either the Prospect Park Zoo to watch the sea lion feedings or to The Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG). BBG also has a children’s garden and a great snack bar.

There are numerous family-friendly attractions in and around Dallas, Texas. The Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park in Grapevine is great — as is the Six Flags Over Texas theme park in Arlington. Also, there are several truly great museums and zoos in Dallas and Fort Worth. Thanks to your great website, many people should now have the ability to visit Dallas by using points and miles from credit card bonuses. Keep up the great work!
Beaches in Orange County, CA
Visit the Empire State Plaza in Albany, NY the capital of New York State. The plaza is home to the kid-friendly and free NYS Museum as well as year round activities for families such as ice skating on the plaza in wintertime and touring the state capitol building. You will love this friendly and manageable city!
Calgary Stampede runs in July every year. Great outdoor event with lots of kids and adults activites.
Your next trip to Cincinnati should also include a trip to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force
at Wright Patterson AFB just up the road near Dayton. It has the finest display of military aircraft
in the world from the Wright military flyer to the B2 stealth bomber to the biggest collection of
presidential aircraft. Definitely worth the trip if you make it back.
Home to Hall of the Fame of the Trotter. Also hosting the 31st annual Great American Weekend (5k/10k race, arts and crafts fair, food vendors, racing at the oldest active harness racing track in the US, antiques, music entertainment)
We love going to Six Flags Chicagoland!!!
I live in a small Southern eclectic equestrian town. Aiken’s Triple Crown held each March over a three week period include flat races, Steeplechase and Polo. All are great tailgating, family events. If that doesn’t strike your fancy – we also have Lobster Race week-end, two Bluegrass festivals each year….lots to do in this small town!
