Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Disneyland and the Elusive Inside Photo

There are some times in Disney Parks where you would love to look and take in a lot of the little details. However, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is not one of them. Located in Fantasyland, behind Sleeping Beauty’s castle, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is based on the Cinderella movie. Little girls, mostly as they will outfit boys, are dressed up as Disney princesses from makeup to outfits. If you have seen shows like Toddlers and Tiaras, you might understand the little bit of creep factor behind the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

I was too mesmerized by the window display to even notice the beautiful carved head details under the gutterline of the roof.

When we were in Disneyland this past June, as we were walking around, we wanted to quickly see the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Our curiosity was more about seeing some details inside the shop and saying we at least have seen the place. Having two boys, getting them dolled up as princesses for the day was not on the agenda. Though, my father-in-law likes to tease me about when we have a girl and how the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is going to hurt, from all the money we will have to spend. In reality though, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is one of those things I do not think I will be talked into, even if being at Disney parks is all about childhood fantasies.

So the least place you would expect to find parents of two boys is at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. In reality, it was probably less than 5 minutes of our day, because there was a slight uneasiness with being in the shop. We literally walked in, looked around quick, and exited. While I snapped a couple quick pictures inside, I really did not think of it much, other than amazement of the shear number of people that get suckered into spending upward of $50-200 to get outfitted like a child pageant contestant. Queue the creepy music.

However, when I got home, I read a cute story from my friend Disney by Mark, where he entered into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, only to be turned around from trying to take a couple of pictures inside. Did they not know who he was? Mark helped Imagineer some of the great ideas behind the parks. Apparently snapping some pictures inside the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is prohibited except by Disney’s official photographers. I had never heard of this, and do not see it listed on either the Disneyland or Disney World Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique pages as a rule.

If I did not feel so awkward inside the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique taking pictures of other people’s kids in the background of what I really wanted to capture, I would have loved to memorialize some of the real Disney characteristics inside the shop. Such great examples include the curtains at each chair are held by birds, and as the girls get wrapped up, the birds slowly open the curtains to reveal a mirror. Or even other small details like scenes of the mice making Cinderella’s dress, or the Fairy Godmother stained glass window. Do not get me wrong though, there are pictures of all this out there on the internet, but I might have risked eviction from the park walking into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to snap some more pictures. Or at least if I would have had the official Disney photographer put them on a PhotoPass card for me.

I guess the fact that you can not take pictures inside the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is more than enough to keep me out and taking any future daughters inside. That would be a great example of Save Money, Travel More!

Club Carlson Point Summary + Park Inn More of a Good Thing Promotion

So how did everyone fare from the Radisson Big Night Getaway? I think our family did very well, spreading out three reservations between the Radisson Hotel Cleveland-Gateway, Country Inn Indianapolis Airport South, and the Park Inn Hotel in Toledo, Ohio.

July 2012 Club Carlson Point Status

Overall, I walked away with 154,780 Club Carlson points, and my wife scored an additional 18,782 points. If we are able to locate properties at the low end of 9,000 points per night, we stand to earn over 19 free nights. In addition, if we want to spread our points out further, we can do cash and points options, making our stockpile practically last indefinitely.

What is even more important for Club Carlson is that they exposed our family to their brand of hotels that we probably would not have paid attention to before. I think that is an excellent return on their investment. That is why I kind of am excited about Club Carlson’s current promotion.

• By participating in this Promotion, you agree and consent to these terms and conditions.

Let me first say my wife was really impressed with the Park Inn property in Toledo. While I am still waiting on her to write the review, I do know the room was apparently beautiful and on the corner with windows looking out onto the City. My wife and her best friend enjoyed their girls night alone while the men took care of the kids. I think our Club Carlson Gold status may have had something to do with their great room too. 🙂

So with all that being said, I am excited to possibly stay at a Park Inn because of this promotion. Will you take advantage of this offer?
